Knock Knock Children’s Museum is pleased to announce Kathy and Roy Martin III and RoyOMartin as the new sponsors of Story Tree, the Museum’s iconic reading library nestled under the branches of its giant tree. This partnership represents significant, ongoing support from one of Louisiana’s oldest family-owned companies, whose longstanding commitment to educating, enriching, and inspiring children aligns perfectly with one of Knock Knock Children’s Museum’s most beloved Learning Zones. To celebrate this partnership, Knock Knock will host a ribbon-cutting and sponsorship unveiling at the Museum on Friday, July 10th at 12:00 p.m.

By giving children an engaging space to listen, read, and write, Story Tree brings literacy to life through playful learning. Home to hundreds of expertly curated books connected by subject to the Museum’s 18 unique Learning Zones, Story Tree invites every young reader to discover a story that is uniquely their own. The space supports early learning across multiple developmental domains—from language and literacy to cognitive development, fine motor skills, and social-emotional growth—as children explore at their own pace. Fittingly, the tree that anchors this storytelling world now stands as a symbol of the Martin Family’s and RoyOMartin’s century-long legacy in conserving Louisiana’s forests and their commitment to education.

RoyOMartin, headquartered in Alexandria, Louisiana, has built both its business and its culture around growing trees, and in the company’s words, growing people alongside them. Through programs like WoodWorks and Girls Can Too!, the company has spent nearly two decades introducing students to career pathways in the forest products industry. The Martin Foundation also supports education and community needs across Louisiana and Texas. RoyOMartin previously served as the presenting sponsor of the Museum’s signature gala, Storybook Soiree, from 2023 to 2025, and The Martin Foundation has also supported the museum’s Access for All initiative, which expand access for children with special needs and provides reduced-price admission to qualifying families.

Recently, Roy O. Martin III was awarded an honorary doctorate from LSU for his decades of transformative leadership, philanthropy, and service to the state of Louisiana. Chris Martin, son of Roy O. Martin III, currently serves on Knock Knock Children’s Museum’s Board of Directors and Finance Committee.

“We are so grateful to the entire Martin family for its generous support of our museum and for the family’s longstanding commitment to advancing the education of Louisiana’s children,” said Christina Melton, Knock Knock Museum’s Executive Director. “Sponsoring a Learning Zone shaped like a tree and dedicated to literacy and discovery, beautifully reflects the Martin family’s commitment to nurturing a new generation of young learners.”
