What Children Can Learn and Do:
- Play the roles of wait staff, cashier, diner, and restaurant manager.
- Build literacy skills, by recognizing that pictures and words represent things and by reading menus, taking orders, and following recipes.
- Build math skills by counting and measuring in making recipes, as well as practicing sorting and matching items.
- Cooperate with others in decision-making, building interpersonal skills, and self-regulation in public settings by practicing manners.
