Reading Workshop for Parents with Struggling Readers
Is your child struggling to read or scoring Below or Well Below on the DIBELS assessment? If so, Knock Knock Children’s Museum has a workshop just for you! Join us from 5:00p.m. to 6:00 p.m on Monday, February 24 when Kylie Altier, Louisiana’s 2024 Teacher of the Year, facilitates an interactive workshop designed to equip parents with the knowledge and tools to support their struggling reader.
Parents will explore how the brain “learns” to read, gaining insight into some of the challenges children often face. Parents will complete a reading screener to discover where their child may be struggling and engage in a model reading lesson alongside their child to learn effective strategies that are sure to build confidence and skills. A dedicated Q&A session will offer the opportunity to ask questions and receive expert guidance.
Parents will leave with a toolkit of materials to use at home, empowering them to make a lasting impact on their child’s reading journey. And, the best part…. its all FREE, because learning to read is too important to be anything BUT free! Attendance is free; however you MUST register.
