Join us for our next “Knock Knock in the Know” parent workshop. Our guests are child development experts and pediatricians from Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health/FMOL Health. Discover the magic behind how kids learn through play in this lively, expert-led parent workshop on choosing developmentally appropriate holiday toys. Our child development specialists will share simple, science-backed tips to spark your little one’s curiosity, build growing brains, and make gift-giving more meaningful. Come ready to play, explore, and leave with confident, joyful ideas for kids targeting each age and stage! Intended for adults only.

Meet Our Featured Speakers

Jocelyn Lorenzo, MD, Pediatric Neurologist
Dr. Lorenzo received her Bachelor of Science in biology and earned her medical doctoral degree from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines. She then completed her pediatric residency at Southern Illinois University, School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric neurology Fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern University. She specializes in diagnosing and treating neurological disorders in children, including developmental delays and disabilities.

Meaghan Smith, MD, Pediatrician
Meaghan Smith, MD, grew up in Baton Rouge where she attended St. Aloysius School and St. Joseph’s Academy prior to receiving her Bachelor of Science in biology and minor in chemistry from the University of Mississippi. Dr. Smith earned her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport. While in medical school she was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha honor society and was awarded the Ralph W Baucum Jr. Award in Pediatrics. She completed her internship and residency in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she was named the Carolyn Ashworth Primary Care resident of the year. 

Ashley Lummen, MOT, OTR/L, Pediatric Occupational Therapist
Ashley Lummen received her Masters in Occupational Therapy from the University of Mississippi Medical Center and has 10 years of experience in developmental pediatric therapy. She is the occupational therapy lead at the OLOL Pediatric Developmental Therapy Center, and her clinical focus is on early childhood development and has specialty training in assessing young children for autism. 

Elizabeth Burleigh, CCC-SLP Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist
Lizzie Burleigh is a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist with a clinical focus in early intervention, including supporting emerging communication, expressive language delays, and specialized training in feeding therapy. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University and her graduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
