(Baton Rouge, Louisiana) – Performance Contractors announced its support for Knock Knock Children’s Museum’s “By-You Building” Learning Zone” a hands-on interactive learning environment for the much anticipated children’s museum. The announcement was made at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2014, at BREC’s main office, 6201 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge.

The By-You Building event featured a first look at design renderings and proposed educational programming made possible by the company’s $425,000 generous lead sponsorship gift.

“Knock Knock is bringing a hands-on learning environment to the community like no other. This is an educational resource that, for Louisiana’s Capital City with a growing STEM driven economy, is long overdue. I challenge all corporations, business owners, and those who care about innovative educational opportunities, to join me in supporting Knock Knock Children’s Museum. Together, we will build a best-in-class destination children’s museum that will change the early learning landscape in the Capital Region”, remarked Performance Contractors Owner and President Art Favre. Performance Contractor’s sponsorship of Knock Knock’s By-You Building Learning Zone is part of the company’s participation in community

efforts to strengthen early learning skills to build a strong foundation for creative thinking and problem solving skills to enhance tomorrow’s workforce.

The BREC and Knock Knock Children’s Museum will provide opportunities for young children birth to age eight, their families and their caretakers to connect play with learning and education.

“Recognizing the local and state-wide movement of private and public sectors coming together to strengthen early education through STEM and literacy development, BREC is proud to be a community partner with Knock Knock moving forward to bring a best-in-class children’s learning museum to our community,” stated BREC Superintendent Carolyn McKnight. “We applaud Performance Contractors for joining us through their leadership gift and participation in this community effort.”

“As a leader in the industrial contracting industry and as a grandfather, Art understands it is essential to bring these types of learning experiences not just to his own grandchildren, but to all children in our community. Art Favre and Performance Contractors’ leadership gift, and their challenge to others, are major steps forward in advancing our fundraising campaign,” acknowledged Knock Knock Board Chair Staci Deumite Duhe’. “I am proud to announce with Art’s gift we have successfully raised over $8.6 million dollars to bring Knock Knock Children’s Museum to the Capital Area.”
