9 AM – 10 AM
We invite our smallest friends and their grown-ups to start the day with a sensory-stimulating hour. Staff members will facilitate as campers explore a multitude of unique concoctions and objects to feed their growing wonder at the world around them. We will be spending most of our time outside so dress accordingly and bring a water bottle.
Create and Curate
9 AM – 12 PM, Ages 5-10
Join us for an adventure exploring ecosystems using play and hands on discovery to learn new ways we can live in harmony with the natural world around us. Activities will focus on the whole child and include daily nature walks, eco-art making, scientific experiments, mindfulness, gardening, group games, and storytelling.
Real Life Minecraft®
9 AM – 4 PM
Calling all Minecraft® enthusiasts! In this once-in-a-lifetime camp, gamers will experience the reality of the activities in the game, including leather tooling, dog training, gemology, and banner weaving. Campers will be assigned Villager roles and earn emeralds to trade for goods. They will keep all of their treasures in a chest to take home at the end of the week. Activities will be facilitated by many KKCM employees as well as special expert guests.
9 AM – 12 PM, Ages 8-12
Legos® aren’t just for little children anymore. Parents and campers will be in awe of how we’ll tinker with legos and everyday materials to make characters move, shake, and dance. We’ll also experiment with linkages, gears, and motors to see how they work behind the scenes to create special effects. This camp will include coding with micro.bits and is designed for older campers, ages 8-12.
July 14-17, 9 AM – 12:45 PM
Astro Camp® is back at Knock Knock! The goal of Astro Camp® is to give ALL students the chance to get involved in and experience Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) to inspire future astronauts and engineers to learn about space with NASA activities.
9 AM – 12 PM, Ages 5-10
Drawing from their own imaginations, campers will construct their very own puppets and bring them to life. We will discuss the origins of puppeteering and the variety of ways we interact with them for storytelling. We are thrilled to announce that campers will receive special guest instruction from puppeteer Clay Achee of Ziggy and the Junk Yard Band. Parents are in for a treat as campers will present a show for families and museum visitors on the last day of camp.
July 28-31, 9 AM – 12 PM
Campers will explore the world of tinkering and making through activities in science, technology, engineering, art, and math, and how they all come together to make STEAM. Family and friends won’t want to miss viewing the completed projects on the last day at our Mini Mini Makers Fair.
