Explore, Engage and Enrich Our Waters
Knock Knock Children’s Museum is thrilled to launch its new environmental campaign, “Love Our Lakes” on Saturday, October 19th.
Community Clean Up Day with Clean Pelican
Knock Knock is inviting the community to come out and beautify the area around Knock Knock and City-Brooks Community Park! Help our community thrive by volunteering your time to clean up around the museum, including University Lakes/City-Brooks Park, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. We recommend grown-up volunteers for this event. Supplies and gear are provided. The first 200 volunteers will receive a pass for 1 adult and 1 child to come back to play at the museum, generously sponsored by Baton Rouge Water Company. Museum tours will also be open to volunteers who inquire!
Water Play in Knock Knock
From 10:00 a.m. to noon, families with little ones are invited to visit the museum to explore and learn about Louisiana water systems through hands-on activities, developed by Knock Knock’s Learning Innovation team and the LSU AgCenter’s 4-H Youth Wetlands Program, through support from Louisiana’s Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority. The “Love Our Lakes” program is designed to help children understand the importance of preventing litter and preserving clean water for fish and wildlife habitats, food production, and community health. Ongoing activities at the museum will help children learn about our vital waterways and how we can protect them.
