Clay Play — Our First In-Depth Class Series For Kids
Knock Knock continues to break new ground in 2021. For the first time, we are offering a series of classes allowing students to explore clay, pottery, and ceramics more in-depth. This four-part series called Clay Play is geared toward children 7 and up. It’s perfect for beginners and those who may have participated in other Clay Play classes and want to tackle more advanced pottery and ceramic projects. Students will develop their skills in three hand-building techniques with the help and guidance of Knock Knock’s own master ceramicist, Alexandra Pearson. At the end of this series, your little artist will have created several pieces of pottery and sculpture of their very own to bring home.
The Clay Play series is scheduled for four consecutive Tuesdays beginning February 23 and continuing until March 16 (Feb. 23, March 2, 9, 16). Each class starts at 3:45 pm and lasts until 5:15 pm (90 minutes). Students can arrive as early as 3:30 pm. Due to the nature of the series, students will be required to pay a $25 materials fee upon registering, which is included in the registration fee. Space is extremely limited to ensure each student receives plenty of one-on-one instruction. Students should dress to get messy and bring their own water bottles.
We also offer special scholarships for qualifying students. These scholarships are made possible through the support of Capital Area United Way. Apply by clicking the button below before registering to see if your child is eligible.

Parent/Guardian Information and Permission Form
In order to participate in the Clay Play Series at Knock Knock Children’s Museum, a parent or guardian is required to provide contact information for themselves and anyone else who is allowed to pick-up their child from Knock Knock at the end of each class. We also require some basic medical information on each student along with being given expressed permission to act as necessary in case of an emergency. Please click the button below, print the form, fill it out completely, and bring it to the first day of class.
If the Clay Play Series does not meet minimum enrollment, Knock Knock has the right to cancel and refund participants at 100%. Individual refunds are allowed 2 weeks prior to the series start date, less the $50 non-refundable fee. Emergency cancellations with a full refund will be considered on a case by case basis.
