teaching & learning
Field Trips are provided to school groups & home schoolers from Pre-k through 3rd grade with advanced registration during the school year and offered to camp groups ages 5 – 8 during the summer.
Knock Knock School Field Trips
We will begin scheduling school field trips for the upcoming 2018/2019 school year beginning July 1st at 8AM. Field trips will be held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays between the hours of 9:00am – 12:00pm for two-hour periods. Reservations are processed online.
Knock Knock provides two School Field Trip options: Self-Guided Field Trips and Enhanced Field Trips.
Self Guided Field Trips allow for free play in the museum for the entirety of the two hour field trip.
Enhanced Field Trips are designed for students in 1st grade through 3rd grade and include a customized activity that can be selected from three categories: Art and Design.
In order to ensure that your students get the most out of their field trip experience, we must limit field trip groups to 150 students daily. Two classes (up to 50 slots) will be reserved daily for Enhanced field trips. Daily field trips are restricted to a total of 250 individuals (including students, teachers, aides, caregivers and parents).
Homeschool Field Trips
Homeschool Field Trips are scheduled in the afternoons from 1 PM – 4 PM for a two hour period. The ratio of student/adult can be 1:1 for Homeschool Groups. Homeschool Field Trips are $10 for Self-Guided; $12 for Enhanced. All accompanying adults with homeschool groups will pay $10.

Knock Knock Camps
Learning doesn’t stop when school does! Spend your out-of-school time with Knock Knock and learn year ‘round! Summer and holiday camps are designed to meet the interests of every child with thematic offerings that explore making & tinkering, art, math, theatre, music, movement, storytelling and more.
Camps are offered during the summer and during school year breaks. Knock Knock Camps are taught by Knock Knock staff as well as contracted instructors. Specific paperwork is required that includes permission forms. Parents are not allowed to attend KKCM Camps, unless there is a specific special need.
Calling all educators! Knock Knock’s professional development program Making and Tinkering with STEM is back for 2019. Join us for a one-day workshop as we investigate how tinkering and making experiences support fundamental STEM thinking and learning for young children on June 12 or June 13.
Knock Knock Children’s Museum offers a special self-guided group rate for qualifying non-profits (afterschool programs, churches, youth service and community organizations). Knock Knock cannot extend group rates without advanced approval. Group rates are extended to visitors of 15 or more and adhere to our 5:1 child/adult ratio. Group rates are not extended for Saturday and Sundays. Groups need to present their confirmation letter at day of visit and pay as a group during that time.
